Truth About Internet Marketing Revealed!

The Truth About Internet Marketing

by Marlon Sanders

What's the truth about Internet marketing?

It seems like a LOT of people who have home-based businesses are doing quite well on the Internet and have escaped their dreary 9-5 jobs. Others still struggle.

What makes one person succeed and another one fail? What's really the truth?

What I've noticed is that people who make it in home-based businesses and Internet marketing in specific have several things in common:

1. They keep at it over an extended period of time.

Over the past 10 years, I've spoken at over 120 seminars around the world. It seems like I'd see the same people at the seminars over and over. They'd buy all my products. They were going through the "learning phase."

But then, one day, the learning phase ends and the action phase begins. All of a sudden they start doing marketing, creating products, promoting and selling. Before you know it, these people go on to grow very successful businesses.

Not all. But many. From my observation over the years.

2. They focus on what they're good at and get help on the rest.

My friend Yanik Silver isn't good at technical stuff on the computer. From day one he hired people to help him on the technical stuff. Very smart. If you can't write, hire a freelancer from elance or one of the many outsourcing sites.

Or find a way to get around it. Another friend of mine is Matt Bacak. Matt isn't good at writing. So he hires people to write articles and press releases for him. And he uses online videos and teleseminars to sell instead of writing long sales letters.

That works too.

3. Take advantage of your unique skills.

I was a writer by trade. So I focused on writing things. Creating info products. That sort of thing. But I don't have good attention to detail. So I never tackled things that require it like ppc or seo.

Whatever you're good at, DO! And if you aren't good at it, outsource.

Wherever you are, I've been there.

I remember when I was trying to learn this business pre-world wide web days. Back then, we had AOL and Compuserve. I mean, the BIG secret everyone got excited about was that if you had people request a free report and you manually typed their name into the return email, you'd like double or triple response!

I remember when I had to buy deodorant with all pennies. I remember when my car smoked like a bomb. I remember flying a quarter million miles in 1 1/2 years speaking at seminars all over the U.S. and around the world.

I've been at the top of the game. I started beneath the top of the barrell. I've been everywhere in between.

What I can tell you is marketing (whether online or offline) is a crazy, wonderful, ever-exciting, always intriguing thing to do with your life. You have to be a bit crazy to wanna be in this business. But at the end of the day, how else is there to live?
